NANAIMO TRACK AND FIELD CLUB

Founded in 1960, this non-profit Club and Rotary Bowl has been the birthplace of track & field for thousands of enthusiastic children, some represented us at future Olympics.

We train all ages beginning at 6 years old, in both Track & Field and Cross Country.

NDTFC Strategic Plan 2012-2016

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The philosophy of the Board of Directors is that all athletes will receive equal opportunity for
training and competition.

Recent research has shown that Track and Field develops the fundamental skills required for all land based sports, be it, hockey, soccer, football, basketball, lacrosse, etc. without these fundamental skills athletes will never be able to reach their full potential. But more important, track and field is FUN. Running, Jumping and Throwing are simply fun activities.

The Schedule for Cross Country and Off-season training will be as follows:

Saturdays 10:30 - 12 - Cross country with Dave Morris, beginning Sept 3rd for existing members, Sept 10th for new members - Everyone Welcome - Straight through until track season starts (break for Christmas etc)

Tuesdays 3:30 - 5pm - Speed/Power group with Mike Viers (13+) (All Winter),
beginning Sept. 13th

Tuesdays 4:30 - 5:30At Merle Logan Field
Running/Circuits with Tyler, Dave & Al - All ages (Dec. 6-Dec 20 & Jan 3-Mar 6)

All practices/runs (except the Tuesday 4:30 practice) will begin at the track at Rotary Bowl, unless otherwise noted. Tuesday running practices at Merle Logan Field, as noted above.

A huge thank to the Running Room for their generous donation and support.

Track and Field season will begin in March 2012 – date yet to be determined.
