Registration for Athletes 9 and older (as of Dec. 31 of current year) takes place at the beginning of each season – March/April for Track & Field Season & September for Winter Season.
TO REGISTER ONCE THE SEASON HAS BEGUN, PLEASE EMAIL US TO CONFIRM SPACE AND TIMES, THEN REGISTER ONLINE BELOW.
Registration for Track Rascals (6-8 years old, as of Dec 31 of current year) is online only and opens March 1st for April-June Programs.
Meets are optional and can be attended for 1 day or 2 days. Meet entry fees for most Island meets are included with registration. The Club also pays entry fees up to a maximum of 4 events for Pre-Registered and Championship Meets. Please see the Parent Information Package for additional info.
All families are asked to provide a minimum 15 hours volunteer time (not applicable for Track Rascals). Once 15 hours are complete, your $250 post-dated Volunteer cheque will be destroyed.
Hours are easy to accumulate, as help is needed in many areas:
FINISH LINE - Nanaimo Track and Field Club is responsible for running the Finish Line at EVERY Island Meet. We need at least 3 volunteers at the Finish Line at all times (usually 2 hour shifts at a time)
CLUB HOSTED MEETS (Elwood Wylie Meet, any hosted Championship Meets): Many volunteers are needed prior to and during these meets. Duties include Set Up and Take Down, Results, Registration, Food Prep for Officials, Finish Line, Concession, and many more. A sign up sheet will be available 3-6 weeks ahead of the Meet.
OTHER WAYS TO VOLUNTEER: Coaching, Board Positions, Coordinating positions, Helping Coaches during practices, various tasks in the Clubhouse and around the track.
The Club has a few Fundraising Events each season. Funds raised help pay some costs of off-Island Meets, Coaches training, Facility upkeep, Equipment, etc.
