Nanaimo Track and Field

Nanaimo Track and Field Club

Founded in the 1960's, this non-profit Club and Rotary Bowl has been the birthplace of track & field for thousands of enthusiastic children, young adults and adults.

We train all ages beginning at 6 years old, in both Track & Field and Cross Country. The philosophy of the Board of Directors is that all athletes will receive equal opportunity for training and competition.

Recent Research has shown that Track and Field develops the fundamental skills required for all land based sports, be it hockey, soccer, football, basketball, lacrosse etc.  Without these fundamental skills athletes will never be able to reach their full potential.  But more importantly, Track and Field is FUN!

Cross Country/Winter Season 2016

WHAT IS WINTER TRAINING:

Winter Season and Cross Country training involve a lot of running and endurance training, as well as some speed, power and core work.  For the JDs especially, it is quite different from track season, as there is no event-specific training.
